I traveled to Lusaka, Zambia, in November 2004, for a meeting sponsored by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. My colleague and friend, Dr. Greg Pappas, and I went on to Livingstone, where we visited “natural wonder of the world” Victoria Falls and enjoyed a sunset cruise on the beautiful Zambezi River. We had dinner at Pappas’s, a fittingly named Greek restaurant in Johannesburg, South Africa, during a layover connecting to our flight back to the U.S.
